Europe is the third market, not an afterthought. LHD German and British metal already lives here; American and Japanese cars need a plan.
If the car was type-approved for the EU, a Certificate of Conformity (COC) makes registration in most member states a clerk’s job. If it was not — a U.S.-spec Bronco, a JDM Skyline — you are in individual approval territory (IVA in the UK, national IVA equivalents in the EU).
VAT and duty
VAT is usually due in the country of registration, not at the seller’s door, when the buyer is a private individual importing for personal use. Rates and exemptions (classic vehicles, diplomatic) vary. We quote a sale price in USD; your broker quotes landed cost.
Common discharge ports we work toward: Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, and Southampton. Roll-on/roll-off is cheaper than a container; a container is kinder to a concours paint job.
What we put on the listing
Drive side, origin, and whether the car is EU-type-approved. If a COC is available we say so. If the car will need IVA, we say that too. European buyers should not have to reverse-engineer our catalog.
